Classic British Drama Tours aims to give our clients an insight into the world of literary dramas from the likes of Charlotte Bronte, Shakespeare and of course Jane Austen.

We also host tours to popular TV dramas such as Downton Abbey, Outlander and Poldark, plus films such as Elizabeth, The Other Boleyn Girl and Shakespeare In Love, to name a few.

Costume drama is our passion and we love to host tours to these often little known but beautiful locations.

Extensive research is undertaken to locate the sites used in the films, and we plan each itinerary accordingly. We research all about the actors, the scripts, the locations, as well as looking at behind the scenes techniques and editing, which make our favourites so special.

We choose period hotels and inns, and those we use are sometimes quirky, and have a history that will fascinate. The hotels and inns we select often have charming rooms; some with four poster beds, or with stunning views, and sometimes we are able to stay in rooms that have been seen on screen!

Our tours are always small and personal, with usually no more than 15 people, but if you prefer, we can offer private tours for just you and your party.

Our guides are literary and historical experts to give you the social background to the stories of tours we deliver, with knowledge and a passion for the subjects.
Some have worked at times, as extras on the series/films you’re interested in, and can give you all the behind the scenes info, off camera news and views.
